Bio

William Burder Haile was the son of James Thomas Haile and Mary Beaver Hodges. He was known as "Burt Haile" and "W. B. Haile." Grandchildren called him "Papa Haile." Burt married Minnie Virginia Fisher in Dozier, Collingsworth Co., TX. on Feb 20, 1900. They had six children before she died in 1912 of heart problems. He had taken her on a train trip for rest AND to seek medical help for her. She died on the trip in Kansas. He brought her back home and she is buried in Panhandle, TX. Burt married second Mrs. Nannie Irene (Byrum) Fry, a widow with 2 young girls on August 28, 1913 in Ladonia, TX. Irene was a friend of his first wife. Together they had one child, Bryum Hodges Haile, b. July 5, 1915. Burt, Irene, and his mother Mary Beaver (Hodges) Haile are buried in a family plot together in Clarendon, Donley Co, TX.
