Transcription of Obituary from The Bryan Eagle, Sunday, 29 April 1959 C. M. Risinger Funeral Set For Sunday Calvin Monroe Risinger, 88, of 806 Taliferro street, died early Saturday morning in Austin. He was born in Woodville, Tyler county, May 20, 1867. When a small boy he moved with his parents to the Steep Hollow comunity. He is the last member of a large pioneer family. He lived in the same community until 1943, when he sold his farm and moved to Bryan. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church. He was married to Miss Louisa Terry, on July 27, 1887, and she survives him. Seven of the nine children survive him. The survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. T. P. Smith and Mrs. R. E. Jones, of Bryan; five sons, B. A. and Alton of Steep Hollow; B. M. of Normangee; B. L. of Reliance and B. F. of Shamrock; and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Saints Rest Baptist church at Steep hollow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The Rev. R. L. Herring, assisted by Rev. Robert Polk, will officiate. Interment will be in tghe Steep Hollow cemetry under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Milton Risinger, College Station; Olan Risinger, Normangee; B. A. Risinger, Jr. Houston; B. F. Risinger, Jr. Shamrock; James Closs, Baytown and Charles Closs of College Station.
