Mrs. Alice Funk is Dead Word was received here last night that Mrs. Alice Funk, formerly of this city, died yesterday in the Rebecca hospital at St. Louis. Mrs. Funk was well known in Galena and had many friends and relatives living in this vicinity. The body will be brought to this city tomorrow morning and interment made in the Galena cemetery. The exact hour of the funeral has not yet been decided. Mrs. Funk left Galena about three years ago for St. Louis, where she has resided most of the time since. Her death was caused by inflamatory rheumatism. At the time of her death, she was attended by a sister from Wellsville, Mo., who will accompany the body to Galena. The sorrowing brothers and sisters have the sincerest sympathy of all Galena people. The Galena Evening Times, Galena, Kansas 15 March 1902, Saturday, Page 1 Funeral of Mrs. Funk. The remains of Mrs. Alice Funk, who died last Friday at the Rebecca hospital in St. Louis, will be brought to Galena tomorrow morning and the funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon with interment in the Galena cemetery. THE TIMES of yesterday was mistaken in stating that the funeral of the late Mrs. Alice Funk would be held tomorrow. The funeral occurred this afternoon at 3:30, the services being held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sissom, on South Madison street, conducted by Rev. Gurley and interment made in the Galena cemetery. The deceased leaves three brothers and four sisters to mourn her death. The sisters are Mrs. Sissom, of this city, Mrs. Rhodes, of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. McQuoid, of Wellsville, Mo., and Mrs. John Montgomery, of Joplin. All of the sisters were here today to attend the funeral. Mrs. Alice Funk was about 35 years of age and was well known in Galena. The brothers and sisters have the sympathy of all Galena friends in their sad loss.
