Bio

The Wellington Leader May 13, 1976 A former Collingsworth County woman, Mrs. A.L. (Sallie) Langford, died in an Amarillo hospital Sunday, May 9, at 2:00 a.m. She was the sister of Mrs. John Ingram and Mrs. Emma Tate, both of Wellington, who attended the funeral Monday at Schooler-Gordon Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Jack Parker, pastor of Paramount Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Langford was the former Sallie Blasingame and was born at Tyler February 29, 1900. The family came here in 1915 from Limestone County, settling in the Grassbur community. She and Mr. Langford were married there. He was a cowboy for the Martin Crew Ranch interests on the Coon Creek Pasture, and later for Mr. Crews Gourd Land and Cattle Company in New Mexico. He died in 1961. Mrs. Langford had lived in Amarillo about 15 years, making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Woody Coleman. She is survived by three other daughters and a son; five sisters, Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Ingram of Wellington, Mrs. J.J. Owens of Vinson, Mrs. Miller Caison of Amarillo and Mrs. Georgia Lockhart of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two brothers, Clint Blasingame of San Antonio and Woodrow Blasingame of Arizona.
