------------------------- Wellington Leader February 6, 2003 Emma (Polly) Tate, of Panhandle, died in Shamrock Thursday, January 30, 2003. She was 87 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Tate was born November 21, 1915 in Collingsworth County to General Lee and Lena Hayes Blasingame. She married Ernest Tate on August 3, 1934 in Hollis, OK. She was a member of the Panhandle First Baptist Church. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1933 and received her RN degree from Amarillo College. She was director of nurses for Thomas Nursing Homes in Wellington and McLean. Mrs. Tate lived in Lutie from 1942 to 1965; in Wellington from 1965 until 1978, and in Panhandle since 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965 and by 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Rudie and Karon Tate of Samnorwood and Dottie and Dee Holliman of Panhandle; a sister, Lena Cason of Fort Worth and fur grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
