Thanks to contributor #48786212 Funeral Services Monday For Jacob Smith (March 8, 1947) Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Solt Funeral Home in Central City, for Jacob Smith who died Friday forenoon following an illness of three weeks. Rev. Lowell Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Columbus cemetery. Mr. Smith was born Feb. 25, 1872, on a farm near Richland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Smith. In March, 1897, he married Lydia Jane Keller at Schuyler, and they continued to live in Platte and Colfax counties until 1926 when they moved to Merrick County to since reside. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Behle of Columbus, and Mrs. W. R. Trail and Mrs. Albert Gesh of Tacoma, Washington; two brothers, Charles Smith of North Platte and Henry Smith of Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Pease, Mrs. Gus Ernst, Mrs. Alvina Hoarn, all of Columbus, and Mrs. Frank Biles of Caldwell, Idaho. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
