Pease, 95 a pioneer Nebraskan who made her home in Columbus the last 15 years died at 11 a.m. Sunday (May 31, 1959) in the ? Haven. In good health until the past couple of years. Mrs. Pease was recently hospitalized ? a slight heart attack. Mrs. Pease, born July 26, 1863 in Davidsville, Pennsylvania, came to Colfax county with her parents, Henry and Betsy Smith, in 1868 when her father homesteaded near the Platte county line. In 1878 they left the farm to return to Pennsylvania but returned to Richland 4 years later. Her marriage to Walter S. Pease to place June 1, 1890 at her parents farm, and they made their home on the adjoining farm until ? when they moved to Enid. Mr. Pease died there May 7, ?. Mrs. Pease was a member of Rebbakah Lodge. She is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Carter (Marylee) ??orf of Oak Park, Michigan; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is the last of a family of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Daniel, Jacob, Henry and Joseph Smith and sisters, Lizzie, Emma, Elvinia, Katie and Amanda.
