Bio
Dorothy Martha Carnes was born August 15, 1924, at Olivia, Minnesota, to Michael and Anna (Serbus) Frank. She attended country school south of Olivia. After attending Normal Teachers Training in Glencoe she taught at several country schools. Martha married Cecil Carnes on July 1, 1947, at Bechyn, Minnesota, and they made their home on the family farm south of Renville. Martha was a faithful and active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Renville and the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved playing cards and participating for many years in her card club. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening and tending her immaculate flower beds. She has recently resided at the RenVilla Nursing Home where she died May 5, 2015. Martha is survived by her five children: Kathleen, Gary, Doug, Dorothy, and Todd; her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, and her five siblings. --dirksblem.com
