Kenneth Terrill George, 89, of Sanger, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Mr. George was born on February 10, 1928 in Sanger, TX to John and Lucille (Erwin) George. He was married to Dorothy Lee Farmer on September 5, 1943 in Marietta, OK. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Gribble Springs Baptist Church. He worked for Ford Motor Company for twenty-six years and then went to work for Sheriff Wylie Barnes at the Denton County Sheriff's Office in 1971. He was elected the Denton County Sherriff in 1977 and served until 1984. He continued to stay active and was an avid domino player at the Denton Senior Center. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lee Parkhill and her husband Paul Douglas of Sanger; sister, Ada Margaret Jordan of Valley View; brother, Billy Wayne George of Sanger; two grandchildren, Julie Anne Row, Tod Wesley Parkhill and his wife Suzanne; six great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sisters, Johnie Mae Meador, Rosie Fain, Mary Enlow Boyd, Ruth Bryson; brothers, Arthur George, Joe George, Sidney George, Bobby Gene George, Dwayne George. Pallbearers will be: Dennis Jordan, Ricky George, Kenneth Wayne George, Teddy Meador, David Meador, Billy Bob Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be: Royce Fain, Butch Farmer, Mike Bryson.
