He had had a heart condition for the past three years. Services for Bures, of 1622 16th St., Columbus, are Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. The Rev. Russ Monza officiates. Burial is at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. He will lie in state at the McKown Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary for Bures will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 12, 1908 at Schuyler to Frank B. and Cathrine (Mares) Bures. He attended Schuyler Schools. On Sept. 12, 1933 he married Margaret Speicher in St. Bonaventure Church. He and his wife lived in Schuyler and Columbus. He worked [as] a service man for Montgomery Wards for 27 years and at Behlen Manufacturing for 10 years until retiring three years ago. He was active in civil defense, the Mars Net radio club and REACT radio club. He had been a Ham radio operator all his life. He was a Schuyler fireman while residing there. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Survivors are his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Joyce) Albright of Omaha, and Mrs. Edwin (Janet) Novotny Jr., of Clarkson; two sons, Robert and John of Columbus and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
