He had been ill for a month. Funeral services are set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Rev. Regis Watts officiating. Scripture service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Born Feb. 16, 1885 at Sad_, Austria-Hungary, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Balaban) Bures. Resident of this area most of his life, he was a grocer in Schuyler where he served several terms as mayor and on the city council. He married Catherine Mares Jan. 8, 1907 at Schuyler. In later years he lived in Columbus and worked for Schweser's. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Preceded in death by his wife, he is survived by one son, Leo of Columbus; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Nash of Columbus, Mrs. Emma Holub and Mrs. Blanche Kluck of Richland; two brothers, Edward E. of Schuyler and Victor B. Bures of Rogers. Two sisters died in infancy.
