Cherokee Daily Times: Nov. 6, 1986: Pg 2 Services for Jesse J. Messerole, 47, of rural Cherokee, are today at 10:30 a.m. at the Maryhill Visitation Church, rural Cherokee. The Rev. Gene Sitzmann will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. Mr. Messerole died Monday of an apparent heart attack. He had been a resident of Cherokee County his entire life. He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Cherokee to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Messerole. On June 30, 1973, he married Elaine Thompson in Cherokee. He had farmed for many years in Cherokee County. He was an auctioneer and was working as a livestock buyer for Brown & Goff in the Sioux City Stockyards. He was vice president and partner in Highway 59 Tire Inc. and was a member of the Cherokee County Fair Board. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff Messerole, Sac City and Jayme Messerole, Cherokee; two daughters, Jodi, Wayne Neb. and Joni, Sioux City; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Messerole, Cherokee; three brothers, Bob and Ron (Tiny) Messerole, both Cherokee; Roy (Red) Messerole, Le Mars; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Gertrude) Selk, Larrabee and Mrs. Michael (Joyce) Bechtel, Cherokee, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father on Jan. 7,1983.
