Coeburn, VA ~ Samantha Elizabeth Holbrook, 90 passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Wise Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Phillip McKinley Holbrook and Maude Melissa Salyer Holbrook; also preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Bush; four nephews, Kenny Pennington, Eddie Lee Pennington, Nedlan Holbrook and Forest Masterson; a niece, Phoebe Lowry. Survivors include a special niece, Anita Jordan Hamilton. St. Paul; son-in-law, Danny Bush, Oak Ridge, TN; two grandsons, Andrew Bush, Oak Ridge, TN and Michael Bush, Highland Heights, KY; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Rebecca Bush; nieces, Rita Jordan Edwards, St. Paul, Susan Robinson, Castlewood, Debbie Masterson, Knoxville, TN, Brenda Broyles, Kingston, TN, Eva Ring, Coeburn and Amy Belcher, Johnson City, TN; nephews, Junior Pennington, Delaware, Gary Holbrook, Nashville, TN, James Jordan, St. Paul, Terry Jordan, and David Jordan, both of Coeburn. Funeral services for Samantha Elizabeth Holbrook will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Mary Martin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Parish officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA. ∼ Coeburn, VA ~ Samantha Elizabeth Holbrook, age 90, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Wise Virginia just days before her 91 birthday on April 2.. She was the daughter of the late Phillip McKinley Holbrook and Maude Melissa Salyer Holbrook. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Rebecca Sue "Becky" Holbrook Bush; brothers - Edgar, Noah; sisters - Ruth, Orpha, Flora, and Opal: nephews, Kenny Pennington, Eddie Lee Pennington, Nedlan Holbrook and Forest Masterson; and niece, Phoebe Lowry. Survivors include a special niece and caregiver, Anita Jordan Hamilton (Missy, Jodie, Jayme, Ryan, John, Heather, Meredith, Brody, and Blakely all of whom played major roles in helping Anita get Samantha to dr appointments), St. Paul; brother - Wilburn Holbrook, sister in law - Dorthy Overton Holbrook (wife of Edgar): son-in-law, Danny Bush, Oak Ridge, TN; two grandsons, Andrew "Andy" Bush (Kara), Oak Ridge, TN and Michael Bush, Highland Heights, KY; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Rebecca Bush; nieces, Rita Jordan Edwards (Gerald), St. Paul, Susan Robinson (Roger), Castlewood, Debby Bryant, Knoxville, TN, Brenda Byers (Rick), Kingston, TN, Eva Ring (Doug), Coeburn and Amy Belcher (Rick), Johnson City, TN; nephews, Junior Pennington, Delaware, Gary Holbrook (Barbara), Nashville, TN, James "Jimmy" Jordan, St. Paul, Terry Jordan, and David Jordan, both of Coeburn. Samantha was a member of Mary Martin Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. As a child she was proudly one of founder, Mary Martin's, "kids", She attended one of the five churches established by Mary Martin, who walked everywhere she went serving her Lord. Samantha had many hobbies: gardening, flowers, crafts and quilting. A lot of the quilts she, Irene Holbrook and several others worked on together were sold and the money used for church projects. Funeral services for Samantha Elizabeth Holbrook will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM with the body lying in state 2 hrs before the service at Mary Martin Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Bill Parish will be officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park with graveside service being conducted at the Chapel of Love. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 after 6:00 P.M.until ? at Estes Funeral Home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
