Bio

Kathleen Baumert, 85, of Clarkson, Nebraska, died Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Stanton Health Center, Stanton, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 29 at 10:30 AM at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Fr. Rod Kneifl celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-6 PM with a 6 PM Vigil Service all at the church. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 AM until service time also at the church. Interment will be in the Clarkson Catholic Cemetery. Kathleen A. Baumert was born November 14, 1930, in Colfax County, Nebraska, to Theodore and Dorothea (Pieper) Hegemann. She attended Howells School and on February 15, 1950, was united in marriage to Hubert Baumert at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Howells. They farmed in Cuming County for several years before settling on a farm west of Clarkson in 1965. In 2000 they moved into Clarkson. Kathleen held numerous jobs throughout the years but most recently worked for the nursing home in Clarkson. Kathleen loved to cook, play cards, sew, and do volunteer work. She earned her GED in 1976. Kathleen was a faithful member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where she did volunteer work and was part of the altar society. Kathleen is survived by: Daughter – Nancy (Jerry) Eckert of Littleton, CO Daughter – Patricia (Lee) Larson of Stanton, NE Daughter – Carol (Dave) Steehler of Eden Prairie, MN Daughter – Lynn (Leo) Ziemba of Polk, NE Daughter – Mary (Dennis) Stoklasa of Clarkson, NE Daughter – Anita (Gerald) Steffensmeier of Howells, NE Daughter – Monica (Mike) Harney of Clarkson, NE 25 Grandchildren 30 Great Grandchildren Sister – Sister Dorothy Myriam of Milwaukee, WI Sister – Arlene (Reuben) Doernemann of Howells, NE Brothers – Robert (Alice) Hegemann of Fremont, NE; and Victor (Mary Ann) Hegemann of Richardson, TX Sisters-in-law – Lorene Hegemann, Arlene Hegemann, and JoAnn Hegemannn of Howells, NE; and Mildred Emanuel of North Bend, NE Brothers-in-law – Gene Minarck of North Bend, NE; and Marius (Mary Lou) Baumert of West Point, NE Kathleen was preceded in death by: Parents – Theodore and Dorothea Hegemann Husband – Hubert Baumert Great Grandson – Keigan Harney Brothers – Adolph, Raymond, Leonard, and Joe Hegemann Sisters – Sister Dorelia, Adella Fendrick, Marie Kruger, and Helen Schlautman Brothers-in-law – Alfons (Christine) Maumert, Paul (Phyllis) Baumert, Ralph Emanuel Sister-in-law – Mary Minarck
