Bio

Miss Rosetta Shirley Dead Miss Rosetta Shirley, 47, daughter of L.B. Shirley, of Oneonta died in a Tuscaloosa hospital Sunday, January 19th, at 5:15 a.m. Miss Shirley lived in Oneonta for many years and had many friends here, as well as in other parts of the county, who were deeply grieved to learn of her death. The remains were brought back to her old home on Straight Mountain for burial. Funeral services were held in Antioch Tuesday, January 21, at 11:00 o' clock, and were conducted by Rev. L.T. Fendley, assisted by Rev. Palmer. Robinette was in charge. Besides her father, the deceased is survived by four brothers, John Shirley of Anniston, O.L. Shirley of Georgia, W. F. and T .G. Shirley of Oneonta; two sisters, Miss Fannie Shirley and Mrs. Minnie Wells of East Lake. [The Southern Democrat, January 23, 1941]
