Elsie Hejl Moeller, age 95, of San Angelo, departed this earthly home on Friday, July 31, 2015, for a Heavenly home through her faith in Jesus. Elsie was born Aug. 6, 1919, in her grandparent's home near Taylor, Texas, to Jim and Annie Dusek Hejl. In her teenage years, the family of 12 moved to the Wall community to continue farming. Farm and household work prepared her for marriage to her lifelong husband, Melvin Moeller. They were married Nov. 23, 1937, at Sacred Heart Cathedral and continued farming and rearing four children. Elsie was of a generation that stressed family values, working hard and saving up for harder times, encouraging education and caring for one another. Mom's endless tasks, to name a few, were making handmade clothes, filling a cellar with canned goods from the garden, trading eggs for other groceries, long hours of manual field work on the farm, treating the kids with goodies on Friday grocery buying day, countless baseball games with snow cones, school functions as room mother, encouraging family gatherings, supporting and loving her children and husband and later caring for family needing help. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Moeller; a brother, Jerry Hejl; sisters Betty (Holubec) Bubenik and Annie Wanoreck; and granddaughter Teri DiMarco. The extended family includes two sons, James Moeller and wife Sue of Gun Barrel City, Roy Lee Moeller and wife Jane of New Braunfels; and two daughters, Shirley Henderson and husband Robert Jr. and Doris Wendland and husband Eugene, all of San Angelo. Eight grandchildren include Michael Yoes, Tamyla Morris, Wesley Wendland, Cathy Jackson, Kimberly Cernyar, Janette Eldridge, Richard Moeller, and Keri Blake. Great-grandchildren include Kelsey Blake, Caitlin Yoes, Blazer Blake, Justin Yoes, Hunter Jackson, Caelie Morris, Madison Yoes, Zoe Eldridge, Laura Morris, Alexis Jackson, Ali Eldridge, Grant Morris, Nathan Cernyar and Rory Ginder. Surviving siblings include Sadie Havlak, Ruby Bryant, Dorothy Harmon, Stanley Hejl, Mary Ann Harmon, Ervin Hejl, and Lorene Snodgrass, all of San Angelo. Pallbearers will be Michael Yoes, Wesley Wendland, Richard Moeller, Wayne Dusek, Travis Dusek and Bobby Lynn Craft.
