Melvin Moeller, 85, of Wall passed away into Gods heavenly kingdom on Friday, April 20, 2001. Melvin was born in Runnels County to Richard and Katie Lehr Moeller on Nov. 1, 1915. He moved to the Wall Community as a very young boy, and spent his lifetime farming. There he met his lifelong partner and true love, Elsie Adela Hejl. They married on Nov. 23, 1937, in the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart. Melvins family was the most important part of his life, and this was evident in the love he showed for them. Melvin was very active in the Wall community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He took pride in being a member of the Wall Volunteer Fire Dept. He served on the Board of Trustees in the Hess-Averitt School District and as the tax assessor/collector for Wall Independent School District. Melvin was preceded in death by one sister, Delta Bubenik, and one granddaughter, Teri Lynn DiMarco. The Moeller family would like to thank all the kind staff at the Regency House who showered Melvin with tender care and love. Hospice of San Angelo is to be commended for their excellent care and compassion. They lovingly spent long hours with Melvin and the family at his bedside and behind the scenes. A personal thanks goes out to Linda Roberts, Amanda Fay, and sister Brigid Mollaghan of Hospice. A thank you to the Eucharistic hosts for the faithfulness to Melvin and Elsie. A gracious thanks also goes to Dr. Robert Morton and staff for their years of care, and Dr. Ross Carmichael for Melvins care at the Regency House. Melvin is survived by his wife, Elsie Moeller of San Angelo; two sons, James Moeller and wife, Sue, of Richardson, and Roy Lee Moeller and wife, Jane, of Austin; two daughters, Shirley DiMarco and husband, Jimmy, of Mason City, Iowa, and Doris M. Wendland and husband, Eugene, of San Angelo; one sister, Florine Hoelscher; eight grandchildren, Michael Yoes, Tamyla Morris, Wesley Wendland, Cathy Jackson, Kim Cernyar, Janette Eldridge, Richard Moeller, and Keri Blake; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Blake, Blazer Blake, Caelie Morris, and Hunter Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Yoes, Wesley Wendland, Richard Moeller, Marshall Bryant, Ardie Harmon and Steven Hoelscher.
