BALLINGER - Bertha Agnes "Betty" Holubec Bubenik, 79, of San Angelo and formerly of Rowena, died at 4:44 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2001, in Community Medical Center in San Angelo. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Rains-Seale Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery in Rowena. She was born July 12, 1921, in Taylor to Jim and Annie Rose Dusek Hejl. She married Arnold E. Holubec on Feb. 24, 1938, in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1988. Her parents and a brother, Jerry Hejl, also preceded her. She married Albert Bubenik on Oct. 5, 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of SPJST Lodge #49 in Rowena. Betty is survived by her husband, Albert, of San Angelo; two sons, Arnold Holubec Jr., and wife, Mary, of Terrell and Edward Ray Holubec and wife, Brenda, of Rowena; one daughter, Loretta McAlister and husband, John, of Ballinger; seven grandchildren, Robert Holubec, Beverly Burnett, Sherri Salinas, Kristie Holubec, Jason Boggess, Brandon Boggess and Kristin Boggess; and six great-grandchildren. Nine brothers and sisters, Annie Wanoreck, Elsie Moeller, Sadie Havlak, Ruby Bryant, Dorothy Harmon, Mary Ann Harmon, Stanley Hejl, Ervin Hejl and Lorene Leggett; a stepson, Ronnie Bubenik and wife, Gloria; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren also survive her.
