Thanks to contributor #48796369 Gertrude "Pat" Vogeler, 83, of North Loup died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the North Loup United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melanie Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Scotia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the North Loup United Methodist Church or the North Loup Rescue Unit. Mrs. Vogeler was born Feb. 3, 1918, in rural Ericson to Fay and Cleo (Van Horn) Patrick. She attended country school in rural Ericson and graduated from Ericson High School in 1936. After schooling, she worked in Ord at the Dime Store. She married Donald D. Vogeler on June 1, 1943, in Ord. The couple lived and farmed three miles west of North Loup for more than 55 years. Her husband died Aug. 21, 1999. She lived on the farm until her death. She was a member of the North Loup United Methodist Church and an extension club. She was involved with church dinners, North Loup Popcorn Days and enjoyed attending the annual Ericson Alumni Reunion. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, sewing, embroidering, reading and having her hair done weekly. With her husband, she spent time traveling and dancing. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William and Nancy Vogeler and Craig Vogeler, all of North Loup; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Richard Penas of Columbus, Vicky and Mike Johnson of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Colene and Merlyn Williams of Burwell and Carol and Tom Holt of Arlington, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous foster grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Elsie Patrick of Scotia, Bill and Eileen Patrick of Hastings, George and Peg Patrick of Scotia, Gene and Vivian Patrick of Casper, Wyo., and Kenneth and Shelby Patrick of Ashboro, N.C.; and a sister, Beth Hill of Ord. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, two sisters, Gladys Hackett and Louise Timmerman and a brother, Paul Patrick. The Grand Island Independent, Oct. 24, 2001
