Bio

Frank Kojetin was born in about 1870 to Anna Macholda and Vaclav (Wencel) Kojetin, in Scott County, Minnesota. In 1878, Frank’s parents sold their farm in Scott County and moved to Beaver Falls Township in Renville County, Minnesota. Frank was raised in Beaver Falls where the family built a sod house and farmed. Frank and Mary (Dobias) Dobeus, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Peterka (Dobias) Dobeus, were united in marriage on 24 November 1894, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bechyn. Frank and Mary had been next-door neighbors when their families lived in Scott County, Minnesota. Frank and Mary had seven sons and one daughter, Frank, Jr., Stanley, Rose, Henry, Matthew, Stevens, Peter, and John. They farmed in the Lucan area until 1923, when Frank retired and they moved to Minneapolis. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 24 November 1944. Frank’s wife, Mary (Dobias) Dobeus Kojetin, passed away a few months later, on 13 April 1945. Frank Kojetin died on 22 May 1955 and was buried next to his wife in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota.
