Bio
Mary (Dobias) Dobeus was born in 1873, to Joseph and Mary (Peterka) (Dobias) Dobeus, in Belle Plaine, Scott County, Minnesota. In 1875, Mary moved with her parents to Sleepy Eye, Brown County, Minnesota, where she spent her childhood and attended school. In 1891, Mary and her parents moved to Westline Township, Lucan, Redwood County, Minnesota. Mary and Frank Kojetin, the son of Wencel and Anna Macholda Kojetin, were united in marriage on 24 November 1894, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bechyn. Mary and Frank had been next-door neighbors when their families lived in Scott County, Minnesota. Mary and Frank had seven sons and one daughter, Frank, Jr., Stanley, Rose, Henry, Matthew, Stevens, Peter, and John. They farmed in the Lucan area until 1923, when Frank retired and they moved to Minneapolis. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 24 November 1944. Mary (Dobias) Dobeus Kojetin passed away on 13 April 1945, and was buried in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota.
