Anna Macholda was born on 24 July 1828, in Czechoslovakia, where she later married Vaclav (Wencel) Kojetin. In July 1865, Anna, Vaclav, and their son, John Kojetin, arrived in America. Sadly, the twin daughters who were born to Anna and Vaclav, while they were making the trip across the Atlantic Ocean, died and were buried at sea. Anna and Vaclav settled in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, where their son, Wencel John Kojetin was born on 17 May 1866. They left Chicago, and bought a farm in Scott County, Minnesota, where their son, Frank Kojetin was born in about 1870, and their daughter, Mary Ann “Maria” Kojetin, was born on 12 March 1872. In 1878, Anna and Vaclav sold their farm and moved to Beaver Falls Township in Renville County, Minnesota, where they built a sod house, farmed, and raised their family. Anna Macholda Kojetin died on 01 October 1918. She was buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota. Her grave does not have a gravestone.
