Bio

Daniel Nors, age 78, of Abbott passed away May 23, 1995 at his residence. A rosary will be recited Thursday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Reinhard Sternemann as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mr. Nors was born November 1, 1916 near West, son of Frank and Mary Nors. He married Leona A. Trlica on October 10, 1938 in West. He was a foreman for Fleetwood Mobile Homes in Waco for 23 years before retiring in 1978. He was also a farmer and a sales representative for S.P.J.S.T. Life Insurance. After retiring he also worked for West Affiliated Food Store. He was a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 66, where he was past president and member of the board of directors. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 11230 in Abbott; a member of the R.V.O.S. Lodge No. 109; and a volunteer worker at Geneva Hall for many years. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. He loved gardening and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Leona Nors of Abbott; one daughter, Barbara J. Brem of Waco; two sons, Eugene D. Nors of West, and Danny R. Nors of Trenton; one brother, Pete Nors of Mt. Calm; one sister, Agnes Janek of Mt. Calm; five grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to the Abbott Catholic Church Building Fund or the West Ambulance Association. Aderhold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
