Bio

Ross Conrad Kibel was born June 22, 1922 to Charley Andrew Kibel and Daisy Dora (King) Kibel at Mildred CO. Ross passed away November 18, 1982 at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction CO. Ross was married to Ruth Irene Smith on May 16, 1944 in Sharon Springs KS. To this union were born 14 children, eight sons and six daughters. He has been a resident of Dove Creek for the past 29 years. Ross was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Cora; two brothers, Lawrence and Homer; and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the family home; eight sons, Gerald Dean, of Lakewood CO, Wayne Kay of Grand Junction CO, Dale Andrew of Slick Rock CO, David Charles of Dove Creek CO, Ross Dwayne of Rifel CO, Gary Lee and Larry Dean both of of Silverton CO, and Tony Allen of the family home; Six daughters, Ruby Shore of Bosque Farms NM, Phyllis Mulvey of Herald CA, Darlene Perkins of Plesant View CO,Hazel Pursse of Englewood CO, Ruth Elaine Wassemiller of Oakley KS, and Verna Meyers of Osborne KS; four brothers, Harvey of Vernon CO, Carl of High Park CO, Lewis of Colorado Springs CO, and Arthur of Gilcrest CO; five sisters, Alma Hopper of Pueblo CO, Edith Eli of Goodland KS, Mable Nass of Tribune KS, Martha Best of Enid OK, and Clara Flowers of Nucla CO; 28 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Dove Creek CO at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 23, 1982. Interment was in the Dove Creek cemetery with graveside services by Troy Young post No. 5181. Printed in the Dove Creek Press Nov 1999
