Herald Coaster, February 10, 1997: Funeral services for Millie Talasek Psencik, 85, of Rosenberg, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, in the Stateroom at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM-2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg. She was born on Nov. 4, 1911 in Temple to Tom Talasek and Katie Horak Talasek. She went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Feb. 8, 1997. She attended the Lost Prairie School in Temple. When she was eight years old, she moved to Rosenberg. In 1925, she was confirmed at Seaton Church by Brother Matycka. She married Herman Psencik on Oct. 30, 1930, and they had a son, Nelson. She was a member of Rosenberg Brethren Church, Christian Sisters, and VFW Auxiliary. She taught Sunday School for several years, served as President of the Christian Sisters, and was the first woman elected to the Board of Elders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Psencik; her parents, Tom and Katie Talasek; and her brothers, Albert, Jerry, and Edwin Psencik. She is survived by her son, Nelson Psencik of Rosenberg; a grandson, Stephen Psencik and his wife, Danna, of Rosenberg; great-grandchildren, Chase and Brianna Psencik of Rosenberg; her sisters, Binnie Babovec of Rosenberg and Leona Weaver of Forth Worth; and a brother, Tom Talasek of Rosenberg. Pallbearers are Daniel Chupik, Ben Chupik, Raymond Macik, Leroy Parthum, Bill Talasek, and Ernest Talasek. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosenberg Brethren Church Building Fund.
