Bio

Herald Coaster, December 24, 1993: Funeral services for Albert W. Talasek, 79, of Rosenberg, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry (FM 2218 and U.S. 59) in Rosenberg. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Albert W. Talasek was born March 3, 1914 in Temple. He died Dec. 23 at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. He was a member of Rosenberg Brethren Church, AARP, VFW, and Lion's Club. He served as street commissioner for Rosenberg for many years and owned and operated the Rosenberg Swap Shop until his death. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, James David Talasek, and his first wife, Vlasta Chupik Talasek. Survivors include his wife, Genell Hand Talasek of Rosenberg; three sons and their wives, Richard and Sharon Talasek of West Columbia, Dennis and Donna Talasek of Richmond, and Robert and Catherine Talasek of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Millie Psencik and Albina Babovec of Rosenberg, and Leona Weaver of Fort Worth; a brother, Tom Talasek Jr. of Rosenberg; and grandchildren, Wanda Talasek, Shelly Talasek, Jeffrey Talasek, Derek Talasek, Dustin Talasek, Dana Talasek, and McKayla Talasek. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Rosenberg Brethren Church in Rosenberg. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
