Bio

The Belleville Telescope, November 10, 1977 Betty Zacek Shulda, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Wiruth) Zacek, was born November 12, 1879 on the family farm south of Cuba and died October 31, at the Belle-View Manor, Belleville, at the age of 97 years, 11 months and 18 days. She attended the White Rural school south of Cuba. She married John Shulda on November 12, 1901, they had three girls and three boys. They lived on their farm until their retirement in 1941. During this time they lived for six years in Flagler, Colorado. Upon their retirement from active farming, they moved into Cuba. She was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge all her life. Preceding her in death were her husband John, her parents, three brothers, four sisters, two son-in-laws. She is survived by three sons, Ernest Shulda, Englewood, Colo.; John Shulda, Flagler, Colo.; Joseph Shulda, Carlsbad, New Mexico; three daughter, Lottie Lewis, Denver, Colo.; Olive Huncovsky, Cuba; Marcella Regenscheid, Tonawanda, New York; one sister, Mrs. Rose Barnett; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church of Cuba, with the Rev. Tom Ballard officiating. Burial was in the National Bohemian Cemetery.
