Bio

(KS) Belleville Telescope Dec. 21. 1944 p.3 Joseph J. Zacek, son of the late Joseph and Mary Zacek of Cuba, passed away at a Concordia hospital December 9. He had been taken there December 8, after a long illness. He was born near Cuba on December 18, 1878, and had reached the age of 65 years, 11 months and 19 days. Surviving are his wife, Annie Zacek, whom he married September 28, 1904, at Cuba. Spending most of their married life in the vicinity of Cuba, they moved later to Washington county, where they lived until his death, residing on a farm northeast of Clyde. Surviving also are two sons, Henry Zacek of Lincoln, Neb., and Edward Zacek of Clatonia, Neb.; six daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Yeager of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Lee A. Craig of Moran, Kan., Mrs. Betty Eckenwiler of Wichita, Miss Leona Zacek of the home, Miss Tracy Zacek of San Francisco and Miss Lula Zacek of Lawrence; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Josie Kasha of Munden, Mrs. Bessie Shulda of Cuba, Mrs. Rosie Barnett of Osage, Mrs. Stella Beneda of Clyde, Adam Zacek of Cuba and Frank Zacek of Agenda. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Clyde by the Rev. J. G. Roberts, and interment was made at Cuba.
