Bio
Lillie R. (Hykel) Schroeder, 90, of West, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited by Janice Kaluza at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Thursday, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery. Lillie was born in West, Texas, to the late Vince E. and Anastasia Ondracek Hykel. She attended schools in West and was a graduate of West High School. On January 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joe John Schroeder Sr. in Tours. Lillie was a homemaker and a very faithful member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Tours. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society. Lillie enjoyed gardening, canning and playing dominoes and Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on August 14, 2000; brothers: William Hykel, Johnny Hykel, Cyril Hykel, Jimmy Hykel and Ernest Hykel; and a sister, Margie Masonhall. Survivors include sons: Joe Schroeder Jr. and wife, Joyce, Richard Schroeder and wife, Margaret, and Dennis Schroeder and wife, Sharon, all of West, and David Schroeder and wife, Sharon, of Ross; daughters, Carol Matus and husband, Ronnie, and Joyce Boyd and husband, Ricky, all of West; grandchildren: Troy Schroeder and wife, Cheryl, Jeff Schroeder and wife, Liz, Krystal Luedecke and husband, Ryan, James Schroeder and fiancée, Margaret Kurzynski, Daniel Schroeder, Kerinne Herber and husband, Treff, Terri Fuessel and husband, Butch, R.J. Matus, Brian Matus, Adam Matus, Justin Boyd and wife, Tanya, and Zachary Boyd and fiancée, Haylee Sykora; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Reid, Lilly, Isabelle, Kylee, Weston, Holt, Karsen, Chapel, Kimber, Willow, Kolsen, and Braxtyn; brothers, Tony Hykel and wife, Sylvia; sisters, Magdalen Gajdica and husband, George, and Mary Lou Clawson and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Bernice Hykel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
