Duncan Banner, Fri., Mar. 25, 1994 Comanche - Longtime area resident JAMES "TINY" BENSON COCKRELL, 75, of Comanche, died Thursday, March 24, 1994, in a Duncan hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Comanche's Prairie Hill Church of Christ with Mario Pineda officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Brooks Funeral Home. Mr. Cockrell was born July 17, 1918 in Fox to Jim and Pearlie Mae (Webb) Cockrell. He moved to Comanche in 1949 and was retired from Sunray Refinery. He attended Prairie Hill Church of Christ. On June 6, 1939, he married Nora Elizabeth Shawn in Velma. Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Jerry Cockrell of Purcell, Dean Cockrell of Duncan, Larry Cockrell of Dothan, Ala., and Michael Cockrell of the home; a daughter, Jean Williams of Newcastle; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
