Duncan Banner, Wed., Sept. 17, 1997 DEAN COCKRELL, 52, Rt. 5 Box 570, died Tuesday, September 16, 1997, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Graveside service, under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Jerry Rogers officiating. Mr. Cockrell was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Duncan to J.B. and Nora (Shawn) Cockrell. On Aug. 1, 1961, he married Nancy Branch in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of Elk Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Randy Cockrell of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Robyn Foster of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Jerry Cockrell of Purcell, Larry Cockrell of Dothan, Ala., and Michael Cockrell of Comanche; a sister, Jean Williams of Newcastle; and grandchildren, Grant, Paige, Miranda and Sammy. He was preceded in death by a son, James Dean, in 1962. Bearers will be Lynn Latham, Glen "Deacon" Hankins, Doug Pewitt, Ken Pickard, Keith Gibbs and Ricky Dismuke.
