Nebr.—April 14, 1983 John Kucera services conducted at Bruno Funeral services for John Kucera, 77, of Bruno, were conducted Monday morning, April 4, from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bruno. Mr. Kucera died Thursday, March 31. The Mass of Resurrection was celebrated by Rev. Daniel Pohl. Music was furnished by St. Anthony’s choir accompanied by Estella Miratsky, organist. Pallbearers were Larry Hlavac, Rod Czarnick, Jeff Kucera, Jim Hlavac, Mike Kucera and Steve Kucera. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends from Broomfield and Colorado Springs, Colo., Brainerd, Minn., Kansas City, Kans., and Boise, Ida., Omaha and towns surrounding Bruno attended the services. John Kucera, the son of Anton and Josephine Svoboda Kucera, was born June 24, 1905 at Bruno. He attended school in Dist. 61. On Aug 30, 1927, he was united in marriage to Martha Yindrick at St. Anthony’s Church in Bruno. Four children were born to this union. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Workmen Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Martha; two sons, Victor Kucera of Broomfield, Colo., and Ernest Kucera of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Helen) Hlavac of Bruno and Mrs. Norman (Margaret) Pecha of David City; two sisters, Sr. M. Rita ND of Omaha and Mrs. Frank (Anna) Rech of Brainard; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His parents, five brothers, Frank, Anton, Ludvik, Joseph and Jacob, and two sisters, Frances Sloup and Mary Weverka, preceded him in death.
