DAVID CITY — Helen Hlavac, 86, of David City, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Helen A. Hlavac was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Bruno to John and Martha (Yindrick) Kucera. She attended schools in Bruno and graduated from Brainard High School. On Nov. 25, 1947, she married Duane Hlavac at St. Anthony's in Bruno. They lived and farmed in the Bruno area. Helen also worked at david place in David City for over 28 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the PCCW, St. Mary's Guild and American Legion Auxiliary of Brainard. Helen loved flowers and gardening, fish fries and playing bingo and was most happy spending time with her sister, family and especially, the grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane in 1998; and two brothers, Victor and Ernie Kucera.
