Bio

Edith was baptized 7/1920 by L.S.Cole in Patton,TX. She married 06/20/1937 to Owen K. Brown and moved to Gatesville in 1942. They were married about 25 yrs. He was a barber and had a real estate company. He died in 1962, she married Dick Herman Kiel they were married about 20 years. They had no children. Edith ,a popular teacher of second grade in Gatesville Elementary School taught 23 years; 3 years in Ft. Bend county,at Martindale; 1 year in San Marcos; and at Concord near Turnerville 2 years and then at Pidcoke 4 years before coming to Gatesville. She has been a member of Alpha chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma teachers society since 1943 and has been a long time active member First Baptist church. She enjoyed tatting lace and gave it to family members. After retiring she moved to San Antonio. All information by Gloria Jaynes.
