Great prayer warrior. Greatest woman that I have ever known. Great mother, friend. Mother of Larry, Pete, Bob, Pam, Ann and Seleta Hamlin. Died shortly after having breast surgery. At the age of 74. Loved by all that met her. She was the daughter of Lawerance Olin Johnson and Selma Devela Bullard Johnson. Which are buried at Hubbard Salem Church close to Coleman's Park in Iuka. We miss you, momma. And we think of you every day. LOLA MAE JOHNSON Hamlin, egnew Lola Mae Johnson Egnew, 74, of Corinth, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness, resulting from prev. breast cancer Services were Sunday, Feb. 11, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Wages (mothers minister), the Rev. Ben Parman (Seleta's Minister) and the Rev. Charles Stephenson (Larry's minister) officiating. Burial was in Henry Cemetery in Corinth. Mrs. Egnew was a housewife. She was a member of North Corinth Baptist Church and VFW Auxiliary. A daily prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mollie Greenhill and Marie Wilemon; one brother, L. O. Johnson; and two grandsons, William Jeffrey Hamlin and Tom Black; and the father of her children, Jesse Willard "Jake" Hamlin. She is survived by her husband, John H. Egnew; four daughters, Pam Crabb and her husband, Jeff, of Corinth, Ann Roe and her husband, Walt, of Tupelo, Seleta Howell and her husband, Stan, of Booneville, and Stepdaughter, Caryn Alton and her husband, Larry, of Weatherford, Texas; 3 sons, Larry Hamlin and his wife, Diane, and Robert "Bob" Hamlin and his wife, Tammy, all of Corinth, Charles "Pete" Hamlin and his wife, Myra, of Kiln, Miss., and stepson John Lee Egnew of Largo, Fla.; one sister, Billie Hamlin of Memphis; two brothers, Bobby Joe Johnson of Booneville and John Houston Johnson of Worth, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Steve Hamlin, Lori Nulph, Vicky Lambert, Stephanie Leigh Childs, Kayla Renee Hamlin, Jeremy Petty, Paige Johnston, Dewayne Skinner, Ryan Howell, Step grandchildren, Tammy Watson, and Amanda Alton and nine great-grandchildren. Lost first grand child, August 29th, 2021 Stephanie Leigh Hamlin, Breast Cancer. Daughter of Robert H. (Bob) Hamlin and Theresa Latch Hamlin Huggins. Jake and Lola Mae Johnson Hamlin, had 1 stillborn and 6 children. 3 boys first, Lawrence Elbert, Charles Edwin, Robert Howell, aka Larry, Pete, and Bob. And then 3 girls, Pam , Ann, and Seleta. With Pete passing away first in 2002, Congestive heart failure. Pete attended Biggersville High School and then went to Vietnam in the 70's and had a hard time when he return back to the states. He was wounded in Vietnam and was sent to Sam Houston Tx Hospital. Later living at Biggersville MS, again. He met and married Myra Switcher and then had 1 daughter, Vicki Lynn Hamlin. Myra had a child from ? Worley ? 1 grand child born after his death. Larry Graduated from Biggersville High school. passed 2019, resulting from diarrheas'. He finally went to the ER and coded 2 or more times. Then was transferred to the ICCU. During this he had become septic and didn't come out of it. He graduated from Biggersville High School and married Diane Weeks from Booneville , MS. Working mainly in supervision and later at Lowe's. And became an ordained Baptist Minister. They had 1 son , stillborn, and then a boy, Stephen Gregory and a daughter Lori Ann Hamlin Woods. Diane Passed away abt 9 months before Larry. Stephen had 3 daughters and Lori had 1 daughter. Tori Nulph. Bob Hamlin, attended Biggersville High School. passed away abt. 2 months past having lower back surgery. He complained of his mid back hurting at midnight. Living on a houseboat, when his companion woke the next morning abt 5 am. Bob was laying in the floor beside his bed. Out of school, Bob went to the Army, but wasn't able to stay as his parents needed him back at home. He married Theresa Latch and had 1 daughter, Stephanie Leigh Hamlin, that passed away in 2021. Married Rhonda Barnett and had 1 daughter Kayla Renae Hamlin. 2 grands, Abie and Mason. Bob was a truck driver for most of his life. Also worked at Tull Bros. Bob passed away, on his houseboat at Perryville Marina, Tenn. Heart attack or blood clot. Pam attended Biggersville High School. Married Dale Petty from Booneville and had one son, Jeremy Dale Petty. Then went to college and became a nurse. Pam Married Randy Keith Johnston of Corinth, MS and had one daughter, Angela Paige Johnston. Later in life, after meeting her husband Tim Medley, traveled with him, building power plants. And worked in safety. Then returning home, worked with daughter in nursing home until birth of grandson. Retired and was able to keep him until going to pre-k. One of Pam's greatest joys are her grandkids. Ann, attended Biggersville High School. married Michael Skinner and had 1 son, Michael Dewayne Skinner and his 2 Anna Kate and Sam. Working in sewing factories in supervision, later working with her husband, in construction, traveling to all parts of the United States. Later in life marrying her soul mate John Alan Faulkner, aka Bull from Southaven MS. Living at New Albany Ms. Retiring there and enjoying their time together and the grands. Seleta graduated from Thrasher High School, and then Northeast MS Community College, Booneville MS Married Stan Howell and had 1 son, Ryan Andrew Howell. who has 2 boys and a daughter, with another boy on the way. Seleta worked in office management thru out her career. Living in Olive Branch, MS. All 3 brothers volunteered for the Army.
