Pete Hamlin KILN - Charles Edwin "Pete" Hamlin, 50, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his home in Kiln. He was a former resident of Corinth and a member of Biggersville First Baptist Church. He was a disabled U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to music. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Biggersville. Survivors include his wife, Myra Switcher Hamlin of Corinth; a daughter, Vickie Hamlin Lambert and her husband, Jody, of Corinth; three sisters, Pam Crabb and her husband, Jeff, of Corinth, Ann Roe and her husband, Walt, of New Albany, and Seleta Howell and her husband, Stan, of Booneville; two brothers, Larry Hamlin and his wife, Diane, and Robert "Bob" Hamlin and his wife, Tammy, all of Corinth; several nieces and nephews; his stepfather, Johnny Egnew of Corinth; special friends, C.J. and Barbara Cameron and family of Kiln. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Willard "Jake" Hamlin, and his mother, Lola Mae Johnson Hamlin Egnew. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Saturday. Pete was a disabled Vietnam Vet. Lived at Kiln Ms with a family that took care of veterans. M/M Cameron. He is buried beside his father. New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Biggersville Ms. He had a very giving nature. He would give the shirt off of his back for a stranger.
