Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 18, 1932, p. 1, col. 5 PASSED ON IN 56TH YEAR DEATH OF JOSEPH KRACMAN Linwood Man Was Found Dead in Bed February 6. Linwood, Feb. 15 - Word of the death of Joseph Kracman came as a great shock to Linwood community Monday morning, Feb. 8, when Mr. Kracman was found dead in bed by his son, William, at whose home 1½ miles west of Linwood, Joseph Kracman had been making his home. Death was caused by heart trouble. Mr. Kracman's age was 55 years, 7 months and 8 days. Mr. Kracman had never been seriously ill. On Sunday evening, Feb. 5, he, with Mr. and Mrs. William Kracman, had spent the evening visiting neighbors and was his usual jovial self. When he retired that night he appeared to feel as well as ever. Born on a farm five miles south of Linwood, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kracman, Joseph Kracman had lived near Linwood his entire life. He was married to Frances Walla on November 19, 1901. To them two children were born, one daughter, Mrs. Tillie Kriz, and one son, William. Both live near Linwood. Mrs. Kracman preceded her husband in death, she dying on February 7, 1923. Besides his two children, Mr. Kracman is survived by one granddaughter, three sisters, Mrs. George Dorsey of Linwood, Mrs. Frank Belik of Chambers, and Mrs. Anton Spatz of Brainard, and by three brothers, Louis Kracman and Fred Kracman of Linwood and Rudolph Kracman of Malmo. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 11, at the farm home at 9 a.m. and at St. Mary's Catholic church in Linwood at 10 a.m., Rev. Victor P. Mlejnek, of Abie, in charge. The church was filled to capacity by friends and relatives who attended to pay final tribute. The pallbearers were Louis Dorsey, Longin Rezac, John Walla, Joe Kracman, Ben Kracman and Jerry Kracman, all nephews of the deceased. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Mr. Kracman was well known and highly respected. He was a progressive farmer and an active stockholder of the Farmers Co-Operative Grain Company of Linwood. He had a host of friends. ____ Card of Thanks - We wish to express our sincere thanks to all who so kindly assisted us at the time of the death and burial of our beloved father and for the floral offerings.
