Originally buried in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Portland, OR; reburied in Ord Cemetery, Aug 20 1962 ---------------------------------- John A. Kusek Funeral rites for John A. Kusek, 68, a former Columbus resident who died Sept. 3 in Portland, Ore., were held in that city at St. Stanislaus Catholic church with Rev. Stanley Smigiel officiating at the Requiem High Mass. Burial was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Martin Czuba, Hood River, Ore., Carl Augustyn, Portland, Ore., and four of Mr. Kusek's nephews: Rudolph Flakus, Shelton, Wash., Louis Flakus, Lewiston, Ida., Robert Flakus, McNary, Ore., and Ralph, Vancouver, Wash. Honorary pallbearers were Emanuel Augustyn, Arthur Buras, James Rinella and Louis Petrone all of Portland, Ore., and Dennis Kula, Vancouver, Wash., and Charles Cilchon of Elyria. Mr. Kusek is survived by his wife, Helen V., a daughter, Mrs. J. B. (Florence) Kudron, three grandson, John J., Joseph D., and Kenneth M. Kudron all of Portland, Ore., four brothers, Andrew and Michael of Elyria, Nebr., Joseph of Hastings, Nebr., and Adam of Columbus, Nebr., five sisters, Mrs. Anna Knopik, Ord, Nebr., Mrs. Carrie Flakus of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Verna Zulkoski and Mrs. Katherine Iwanski of Elyria, Nebr., Mrs. Ceceila Michalak of Omaha, Nebr., and a foster sister, Mrs. Ray Harrahill of Omaha.
