KUSEK--Funeral services held Thursday for Mrs. Helen Kusek Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Kusek, 77, of Artesia, Calif., who died May 29 at Bellflower, Calif., were held Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Ord. The Rev. Stanley Gorak officiated, and burial was in the Ord Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were Adrian Kusek, Leonard Ciochon, Clifford Flakus, John Knopik, Floyd Iwanski and Roland Zulkoski. Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at Hastings-Pearson Mortuary chapel. Mrs. Kusek was born Jan. 14, 1888, in Atkinson, the daughter of Michael and Mary Kozial Flakus, and moved with her parents to Elyria, where she was married to John Kusek Feb. 12, 1912. They resided in Burwell, Tarnov and Columbus until 1941, then moved to Portland, Ore., where Mr. Kusek died in 1952. Mrs. Kusek made her home in Portland with her daughter, and they moved to Artesia, Calif., in 1962. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Florence Kudron of Artesia, Calif., three grandsons, one granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. Frank Blaha of Ord, and a brother, Joseph Flakus of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. The Columbus Daily Telegram - Jun 5 1965
