Married Feb 19 1917 Ord, Valley, NE ------------------------------------------------------ Born, Lived, Died in Ord Vicinity Last rites were conducted Monday morning at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church for Mrs. Josephine Petska, better known as Josie. Burial was made in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Petska was born Jan. 24, 1897 near Ord and lived her entire life in and near this city. She died Nov. 15 at her home while helping her husband rake leaves. They were married Feb. 17, 1916. She was a member of the Catholic church and active in Altar Society work. She lived on a farm until her marriage to James Petska in Ord, afterward living in town. To them were born one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Edwards. Also surviving are the husband, two brothers, Anton and Frank Novotny, two sisters, Mrs. James Rybin and Mrs. Frank Kokes, sr., as well as three grandchildren, Terri, Tom, and Trudy Edwards. All of them live in this vicinity. Mrs. Petska was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Joseph and John Novotny and a sister, Mrs. Anna Parkos. The Ord Quiz - Thur, Nov 21 1963, Pg 1, Col 3
