Married Jan 18 1898 Valley Co, NE --------------------------------------- Elizabeth Kokes Dies At Atkinson; Services Tuesday Mrs. Elizabeth Kokes, 90, resident of Valley County for more that 80 years died Nov. 19, at Atkinson. Services for Mrs. Kokes were held at 10 am, Tuesday, at Ord Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church. Interment was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery with arrangements made by Hastings-Pearson Mortuary. Mrs. Kokes, daughter of Mike and Elizabeth (Lukes) Novotny, was born Nov. 13, 1877 at Spillville, Ia. She moved to Valley County with her parents in 1884 to a location southwest of Ord. She and Frank Kokes were married at Geranium Catholic Church. They lived on a farm west of Ord until moving to Ord in 1932. For the past two years Mrs. Kokes had been confined to a rest home in Atkinson. She is survived by three sons, Joe of Atkinson, Rudolf of Ord and Dr. Anthony of Chicago, Ill.; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Novotny and Anton Novotny both of Ord; one sister, Mrs. James Rybin of Ord.
