The Lincoln Star Lincoln, Nebraska January 3, 1952 Page 2 James P. Mahoney Funeral Saturday James P. Mahoney of 1722 R Street, who came to Nebraska in 1870 died Wednesday after a long illness. He was 81. The retired farmer moved to Bruno from his birthplace in Hamilton, Illinois. He married Nellie Murry in 1898. Mahoney moved to Palmyra in 1903, where he farmed until his retirement in 1936. He then came to Lincoln. He was a member of St. Mary's cathedral. Surviving are his wife Nellie, two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hunt of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Toledo, Ohio; six sons; Walter and Edward, at home, Roy of Sausalito, Calif., J. Phillip of Lincoln, and John and Sylvester of Palmyra, a sister Mrs. Mary Leppert of Omaha and ten grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's cathedral. Msgr. C. J. Riordan officiating. Rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wadlows mortuary. Burial will be at Calvery cemetery.
