John Delwyn Truman, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Golden Livingcenter in O'Neill, NE. John was born on January 12, 1925, in Bristow, NE. to John and Edith Ina (Amick) Truman. John graduated from Bristow (NE.) High School. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II from August 14, 1943 until January 30, 1946. He married Verna Jeanne Fox on June 28, 1958 in Neligh, NE. She passed away on April 13, 1995. He met Jean Holz, and they were married on May 29, 1997, in O'Neill, NE. He was an automotive mechanic and worked as a partsman for Shelhamer's Equipment & NAPA in O'Neill, NE. John was a member of the United Methodist Church in O'Neill, NE. where he taught Sunday school, the Masonic Lodge #95 A.F. & A.M. O'Neill, Bristow American Legion Post #76, and VFW Post #926 at O'Neill, NE. John was preceded in death by: parents; first wife, Verna Jeanne (Fox) Truman; 1 Son; 1 Sister and 1 Brother. John is survived by: wife, Jean Truman; Son, David Truman of Sterling, VA.; Daughter in Law, Anita Truman, of Page, NE.; 2 grandchildren; Sisters; Kay Starkey, of Red Oak, IA. and Ruth Lindhorst, of Topeka, KS. and a host of relatives and friends. Burial was in the Bristow Cemetery, Bristow, NE.
