Kathryn L. (Starkey) McDaniel, age 89, formerly of Council Bluffs, passed away on September 28, 2017 at Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Kathryn was born on August 17, 1928, in Bristow, Neb., to John and Edith (Amick) Truman. She graduated from Bristow High School and was a homemaker and seamstress. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joane; brothers, John and Bill; daughters, Pamela Buckley and Teresa Schroeder; and three grandsons. Kathryn is survived by her sons, Karry Richardson, of Red Oak, Randy Richardson and LeRoy Starkey Jr., of Council Bluffs; daughters, Reatha Hebert, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cecilia Rowe, of Council Bluffs, Angela Himes, of Mechanicsville, Iowa; sister, Ruth Lindhorst, of Council Bluffs; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 2, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 3, at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment in Ridgewood Cemetery, with a funeral luncheon to follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center.
