''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), December 16, 1909, p. 1, col. 4 Bruno Vincent Vavrina aged 30 died last Wednesday at his home, about two and one half miles north of Bruno. '''''''' Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), December 16, 1909, p. 6, col. 1 ABIE Life is a narrow vale between the cold and barren peaks of two eternities as said Mr. Ingersoll in one of his masterpieces. It was sad news that was brought us Wednesday of last week for we did not think that Mr. Vincent Vavrina could die after such an illness. Mr. Vavrina was one of the best farmers in this locality. He owned a nice farm on which he and his family lived pleasantly. Mr. Vavrina died when manhood's morning almost touches noon and while the shadows still were falling towards the west being only about thirty four or so. Kidney trouble was the cause of his death having suffered about a month. The funeral was attended by his friends and relatives which proceeded from the farm to the Catholic church. Rev. Nemec officiated. The remains were quietly laid away in the Abie Catholic cemetery. The deceased left behind a wife and four small children, the oldest about eight years old and the youngest about nine months, also a mother and father and two brothers and a sister. But let believe that he is better now although we shall miss him very much for he has gone above where he will be better off than on earth. The bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of this entire community. Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Schuyler attended the funeral of Vincent Vavrina. Mrs. Cook of David City attended the funeral of Mr. V. Vavrina.
