'''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), July 16, 1936, p. 1, col. 3 DIED IN HER 57TH YEAR. PASSING OF MRS. VAVRINA. Funeral Services Held at Abie Thursday Morning, July 9. Abie, July 14 - Mrs. Agnes Vavrina, respected resident of Abie, passed away at the Prague hospital Tuesday morning, July 7, after a lingering illness. She was aged 56 years, 4 months and 26 days. Mrs. Vavrina was the mother of four children, two sons and two daughters, all of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Louis Kasper and Mrs. Cyril Kasper of Prague, Edward J. Vavrina of Bruno and Leonard J. Vavrina of Schuyler. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, her aged mother, Mrs. Josephine Spatz of Abie; four sisters, Mrs. W. F. Cook of David City and Mrs. Josephine Coufal, Mrs. James Shorney and Mrs. Louis Vavrina of Abie, and three brothers, Anton Spatz of Brainard, J. E. Spatz of Abie and E. L. Spatz of Bruno. One sister, Mrs. J. F. Hamsa preceded her in death four years ago, and her father, Anton Spatz, died three years ago. Mrs. Vavrina was a person of pleasing personality and had made many friends during her lifetime. She was a devoted wife and mother and always strove for the beautiful and higher things in life. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning, July 9, at the home of Mrs. Vavrina's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Kasper, at 8:30 o'clock and at the Abie Catholic church at 9 o'clock. Rev. Alcuin Kasny of Abie and Rev. Bede Cernik of Prague conducted the services. Burial was in the Abie Catholic cemetery, beside the grave of Mr. Vavrina, who died December 8, 1909. Those in attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mrs. Rose Spatz and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Koudele of Schuyler, Mrs. Adolph Novacek and Mrs. Rudolph Novacek of Edholm, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cook, Mrs. Carl Schweser and Mr. and Mrs. Leander Yindrich of David City, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Spatz of Brainard, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Vavrina of Dwight, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pelan of Ulysses, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Spatz, Mrs. Clarence Votava and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pelacek of Bruno, Mrs. Marie Slama, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vacin, Mrs. Otto Odvarka and Miss Helen Odvarka of Clarkson, Mrs. Tom Richardson of Fremont and J.
