Married Margaret Fitzgerald on September 26, 1876 in McLean County, Ill. '''''''''''' Morning World-Herald (Omaha, Nebr.), March 19, 1927, p. 14, col. 1 DEATHS AND FUNERALS John Mulgrue, 75, formerly of Rising City, Neb., was found dead in bed in his room at the State hotel, Wednesday. The body was sent by the Bringe and Nielson mortuary to David City for burial. Death was apparently due to natural causes. ''''''''''''' Rising City Independent (Rising City, Nebr.), March 24, 1927, p. 1, col. 6 JOHN MULGRUE DIED IN OMAHA John Mulgrue was born in Corning, New York, Feb. 18, 1852, and died in Omaha, Nebr., on March 16, 1927, of heart failure, at the age of 75 years and 28 days. He came to Bloomington, Illinois, with his parents, at the age of 4 years. He was married to Miss Margaret Fitzgerald on Sept. 28, 1876. To this union were born two children, Mrs. James Haney and Bernard Mulgrue, both of Rising City. He came to Butler County in March, 1885, following the occupation of farming until about 15 years ago, when he went to reside in Omaha. Besides his two children, Mrs. Haney and Mrs. Mulgrue, he is survived by four grandchildren. There are also four sisters: Mrs. Margaret Jones of Cambridge, Mrs. Mary Young of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Rose O'Hara of Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Kate Courtney of Carthage, Mo.; and 1 brother, Peter, of Bloomington, Ill. Two brothers, Bernard and James, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Wall, preceded him in death. His wife died April 16, 1899. The body was brought to David City and lay in state at the McVay funeral home until Saturday morning, when funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church. Rev. Father Sproll officiated, assisted by Rev. Father Cramer. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. The pall bearers were: Dan Gould, James Kirby, Frank Kirby, Mike Donaher, Barney Eiting, and Peter Zegers. Being, apparently, in good health for one of his age, his sudden death came as a great shock. He was quiet and kind in disposition, and ever ready to be of service to others. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. _________ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank those, who in any way were of help and comfort to us during our recent bereavement. - Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Mulgrue and children, Mary Margaret and John; Mr. and Mrs. James Haney and children, Leta and Bernice.
