Bio

Floyd Earl Scarbrough Funeral services are at 4 p.m. today for Floyd Earl Scarbrough of Childress in the Childress Church of Christ. The minister, J.R. Chism, and E.A. Sanders, minister of the Kirkland Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial by Newberry Funeral Home will be in Childress Cemetery. Mr. Scarbrough was born in the Tennessee Valley community, south of Kirkland in Cottle County. He married Tennie Snodgrass in 1933 and they moved to Childress from Tennessee Valley in 1944. He died Sunday night in Childress General Hospital at the age of 67. He was a farmer-rancher and an automobile dealer. Survivors include the widow; one son, Jewett Earl of Pampa; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Earl Powers of Lubbock; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Scarbrough of Childress; two brothers, L.C. of Quanah and Raymond of Snyder; four sisters, Mrs. Inez Cates of Dalhart, Mrs. Joe Moore of Andrews and Mrs. Lois Thomas annd Mrs. Allyn McLane, both of Childress; seven grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
