The following was contributed by Linda West Hume: Taken from the Bruning Banner dated 10-7-1926: Ella S. Benton, wife of Clarence A. Benton, died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 1926, at the home, 3143 T Street, Lincoln. She leaves besides her husband, three children, Roscoe 12, Robert 4, and Dorothy Louise, 12 days; her father, George W. Ogg of University Place, Curtis of Geneva and Bert of Lincoln. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Oscar Jones at Lincoln. Interment was made in the Geneva cemetery-----Lincoln State Journal. Mr. Benton was a former resident of this vicinity. From the Nebraska Signal September 30th, 1926 page 1: BENTON, ELLA S.—Ella S. Benton, whose maiden name was Ogg, was born at Fort Scott, Kas., June 19, 1890. She passed away at her home in Lincoln, Neb., September 25, 1926, at the age of 36 years, 3 months, and 6 days. At the age of fifteen years she united with the Christian church at Geneva, and adorned her profession by a life of devotion to the gospel of Christ. She was married to Clarence A. Benton February 21, 1912. Three children came to bless their home: Roscoe Arthur, age twelve; Robert Stanley age four and Dorothy Louise age twelve days. Besides the husband and three children she leaves to mourn her death her aged father, George W. Ogg of University Place, three brothers, Albert E. Ogg of Lincoln, Curtis A. of Geneva, and Earl W. of University Place. Her mother Susan C. Ogg and two sisters Mary Melvina Humphrey, and Elizabeth Frances McCashland, preceded her in death. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. A short funeral service was held at her home in Lincoln at 9:15 a. m. Monday, September 27. Her body was brought to Geneva where the funeral was held at the Christian church at 2:30 p. m. Monday. The services were in the charge of Rev. Mr. Lemmon, pastor. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
