(Hottovy) Fiala, 84, of Wahoo died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. Services were held Friday, Dec. 19, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Burial was at Assumption Cemetery at Dwight. Mrs. Fiala was born Oct. 31, 1919, at Dwight to Charles and Rose (Moravec) Hottovy. She attended Assumption Catholic School in Dwight. She married Ray Fiala June 24, 1953, at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. They lived in Wahoo. She was a homemaker, a newspaper correspondent for 32 years, and managed Redwood apartments until her death. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, Guardian Angel for Perpetual Adoration Program, PCCW, Saunders County Right to Life Pink Sisters Auxiliary and Saunders County Community Hospital Auxiliary. She leaves her husband; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Fiala of Lincoln; four granddaughters; sister, Rose Klein of David City; and brothers an sisters-in-law, Emil Hottovy and Charles and Lorraine Hottovy of Morris, Minn., Rose Hottovy of David City, and Emma Hottovy of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Heidi Fiala; brothers, Adolph, Raynold and Richard Hottovy; sister, Lucille Eiting; brothers-in-law, Francis Eiting, Leonard Klein and Harold Kroesing; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hottovy.
